I'M A POSER | WINCHESTER VIRGINIA PHOTOGRAPHER

One of my goals this year is to do a better job of documenting my family life. I am, by nature, a poser in my photography. I like things organized: great light, great smile, looking at me or wherever else I decide. Unfortunately, daily life isn't scripted or posed for us, so I often neglect taking photos of those moments because they are out of my comfort zone. But, this year I am going to go out of that zone and really try to document our lives. Today, I started with something easy...my sweet sleeping baby. I knew if I started with a baby who wouldn't move, it would be an easier transition. I would have time to play with the light and my settings. I can't believe how much she has grown so fast! I really wish I could freeze time in real life like I can in these photos and I guess that is the point of this little journey. My kids are growing before my eyes, I don't want to forget the everyday moments. The posed photos are great to have to document their yearly growth and changes, but the everyday stuff is what our life is made of. The imperfect, the messy, the happy, sometimes the sad, and the wonderful things that make our family what it is. So, here are some of my first tries. I am going to be posting more of this style of photography on my blog in the future and hopefully will be improving as well :)
